Live Head Spill Control Training Exercise

When a fire sprinkler system is not drained, there is tremendous water pressure behind the live sprinkler head. We created a mock-system to demonstrate what happens if a sprinkler head is tampered with or removed before a system is properly shut down and drained.

Our employees each got hands-on experience for when a live sprinkler head is pulled.

They each were allowed to attempt to manually cap the flow.

In this demonstration, they battled powerful water pressure from the open pipe.

Our fitters each successfuly managed to stem the flow of water, learning which tools and techniques were most efficient.

Though these circumstances may be rare, the experience in handling an emergency like this is invaluable.
